Announcing Lab Maker Build, Save, and Share: Create custom AWS Labs and share them across your organization

Today, we’re excited to announce Build, Save, and Share for Lab Maker on AWS Skill Builder. With this launch AWS Skill Builder Team Subscription customers can now save their AI-generated custom labs, relaunch them with one click, and share them with their organization through a new Lab Creation Hub.

Building custom labs is powerful. Sharing them is transformative.

Since launching Lab Maker, we’ve heard from customers that creating instant custom labs with natural language is transformative for hands-on learning. A cloud architect can describe a scenario, and within moments, they have a fully structured lab with tasks and complexity ratings ready to go. But once that session ended, the lab was gone.

Customers told us they wanted to build a lab once and use it again and again, across their teams, without rebuilding from scratch every time.

Lab Maker’s Build, Save, and Share feature solves this.

How it works

When you create a lab in Lab Maker, you now have the option to save it. Saving persists your lab with a name, description, and visibility setting, making it available in your Lab Creation Hub for future use.

From the Lab Creation Hub, you can:

1. Launch any saved lab with one click, pre-loaded with its original configuration
2. Clone a lab to create your own editable copy without modifying the original
3. Share a lab by setting its visibility to Listed, which generates a unique URL accessible to all members of your Team subscription organization
4. Delete labs you no longer need

Privacy by default

All saved labs default to Private, meaning only you can see them. When you’re ready to share, you can set a lab to Public, making it discoverable to everyone in your organization. Public labs open in read-only mode for others, but any team member can clone a shared lab to customize it for their own needs.

Built for teams

Every organization has unique use cases, and now your labs can reflect exactly that. Build, Save and Share lets your teams create labs tailored to the services, architectures, and workflows they actually use, then share them across the organization so everyone benefits. Use it to onboard new team members with labs that mirror your real environment, experiment with new AWS services in a structured way before adopting them in production, or build a shared library of immersive learning labs that evolve alongside your AWS practice. Labs are created by your builders, for your builders, at the speed your organization moves.

Shared lab URLs are scoped to authenticated members of the same Team subscription organization, ensuring your labs stay within your team.

Getting started

To get started with Lab Maker:

1. Open Lab Maker on AWS Skill Builder
2. Describe your lab using natural language
3. Review the AI-generated preview with tasks
4. Click Save and give your lab a name and description
5. Find your saved labs in the Lab Creation Hub
6. When ready to share, set visibility to Public and copy the shareable URL

Build, Save, and Share is available today for all authenticated AWS Skill Builder Team Subscription customers.
