AWS Training and Certification has launched a new training program called DevOps and AI on AWS, and it’s now available on Coursera and edX.
DevOps is the combination of cultural philosophies, practices, and tools that increases an organization’s ability to deliver applications and services at high velocity. Following a DevOps model can be a game changer for teams looking to build efficiently and effectively, and its adoption allows three major wins:
- Reduce software development cycle timing from creation to deployment.
- Introduce automation in software development and testing.
- Decrease IT capital expenditure.
Throughout the program’s three courses, you’ll build and enhance a travel planner application, which uses generative AI to provide recommendations on what to do on leisure trips. You’ll use Amazon Bedrock to power the application’s AI capabilities and implement AI-driven infrastructure monitoring for continual improvement.
Now open for enrollment, this program walks you through each step of the DevOps flywheel to create a continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline. You’ll learn about all Amazon Web Services (AWS) services related to DevOps and how to automatically deploy changes to your applications with automated builds, testing, deployments, and monitoring. You’ll leave the program understanding a new concept called AI operations (AIOps) and how it can reduce human intervention in deployed applications. The program offers all of this through self-paced labs and hands-on experience!
Course lineup
The DevOps and AI on AWS training program is a three-course series. Here’s the lineup:
Course 1: DevOps and AI on AWS: Upgrading Apps with Generative AI (Coursera and edX)
In this course, you’re introduced to the power of generative AI on AWS. Learn to enhance applications using large language models (LLMs) in Amazon Bedrock, focusing on customized text generation, prompt engineering, and knowledge bases to enhance the Travel Planner application. You’ll also explore essential DevOps practices, including coding, building, and testing applications to integrate AI seamlessly into your software development lifecycle while strengthening developer skills, such as source control management and unit testing.
By the end of the course, you’ll be ready to modernize applications with generative AI, implement DevOps best practices, and take advantage of AI services such as Amazon Bedrock in the context of real application development. This course sets the stage for the merging of software development and artificial intelligence and is ideal for developers or DevOps engineers who want to expand their AI expertise or DevOps professionals integrating AI technologies.
Course 2: DevOps and AI on AWS: CI/CD for Generative AI Applications (Coursera and edX)
Become skilled in DevOps practices for building, deploying, and managing the Travel Planner AI-enhanced application. Learn to implement CI/CD pipelines for generative AI applications, automate processes, and improve application monitoring and observability. You’ll focus on acquiring practical skills to streamline releases, reduce errors, and maintain scalable systems in cloud environments.
You’ll get dedicated developer and DevOps engineer instruction on concepts such as automatic deployments, infrastructure as code (IaC), testing, deployment strategies, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Moving beyond theory, you’ll gain hands-on experience on AWS services such as AWS CloudFormation, AWS CodeDeploy, Amazon CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, AWS Config, AWS Systems Manager, and much more!
By the course’s end, you’ll have built an infrastructure that supports continuous releases and improves time to market.
This course is a match for DevOps engineers seeking to advance their skills in DevOps and AI-integrated application management.
Course 3: DevOps and AI on AWS: AIOps (Coursera and edX)
In this final course in the program, you’ll explore how AI techniques can enhance DevOps operational efficiency.
You’ll examine the challenges of scaling applications in production and uncover the ways to address them effectively. As the saying goes, when everything is urgent, nothing is urgent. As systems scale, monitoring alarms and a continuous stream of information can become overwhelming, making it difficult to identify critical issues and respond effectively. AIOps addresses these issues by reducing human intervention, minimizing operational incidents, and improving application performance.
In this course, you’ll learn how AIOps can organize operations, enhance application monitoring, and automate responses to common issues. The course covers common sense strategies for managing large-scale systems, clarifying complex monitoring data, and making informed decisions.
By the course’s conclusion, you’ll understand how to use AI to optimize your DevOps processes through AWS services such as Amazon CloudWatch anomaly detection and much more.
With the knowledge you’ll gain from this course, you’ll be a more informed, proactive, and collaborative DevOps engineer.
