You build streaming pipelines, manage lakehouse architectures, and deliver dashboards that drive decisions. Now you can earn a credential that validates your hands-on skills.
Today, we’re launching three new microcredentials focused on Data Analytics: AWS Data Streaming Demonstrated, AWS Data Lakehouse Demonstrated, and AWS Data Visualization Demonstrated. Each one validates your hands-on ability to diagnose real issues and implement solutions in a live AWS environment, under time pressure, with no hints.
These microcredentials are free to access on AWS Skill Builder. No subscription required.
What’s new
AWS Data Streaming Demonstrated
Prove you can troubleshoot and fix real-time streaming infrastructure. You’ll work through challenges involving real-time ingestion, event streaming, stream processing, data delivery pipelines, poison-pill handling, and schema-driven format conversion.
AWS services covered: Amazon Kinesis Data Streams, Amazon MSK, Amazon Data Firehose, Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink, AWS Glue
Ideal for: Data Engineers and Cloud Engineers working with streaming workloads on AWS
AWS Data Lakehouse Demonstrated
Prove you can diagnose and resolve issues across lakehouse architectures. You’ll fix schema mismatches, eliminate duplicate records, restore query performance, configure fine-grained access controls, and maintain data processing pipelines.
AWS services covered: Amazon Athena, AWS Glue, Apache Iceberg, Amazon EventBridge, AWS Lake Formation, Amazon Data Firehose
Ideal for: Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and Solutions Architects working with lakehouse workloads on AWS
AWS Data Visualization Demonstrated
Prove you can build, secure, and troubleshoot analytics dashboards and reporting layers. You’ll fix ingestion failures from schema drift, build calculated metrics with ML-powered forecasting, implement multi-tenant row-level and column-level security, and publish executive dashboards.
AWS services covered: Amazon Athena, Amazon Redshift Serverless, AWS Glue, Amazon QuickSight
Ideal for: BI Analysts, Analytics Engineers, and Solutions Architects working with visualization workloads on AWS
How it works
Each microcredential is a hands-on, timed lab assessment. You work in a live AWS environment to solve realistic challenges. There are no multiple-choice questions. You either fix the problem or you don’t.
When you pass, you earn a digital badge through Credly that you can share on LinkedIn, your resume, or with your team.
Why microcredentials
AWS Certifications validate what you know. Microcredentials validate what you can do. They complement each other: certifications prove breadth of knowledge across a domain, while microcredentials prove you can deliver hands-on in specific, high-demand skill areas.
These three Data Analytics microcredentials join the existing portfolio, which includes:
- AWS Serverless Demonstrated
- AWS Agentic AI Demonstrated
- AWS Application Networking Demonstrated
- AWS Incident Response Demonstrated
- AWS MLOps Demonstrated

All three assessments are available now, free on AWS Skill Builder. No subscription, no paywall, no waiting.
